Archiving and Preservation Policy

Clioquest: Journal of Historical Research is committed to ensuring that all published content remains permanently accessible, preserved, and available for the global scholarly community.

Long-term Preservation Open Access

Digital Archiving Strategy

To guarantee long-term digital preservation, the journal employs a multi-tiered strategy:

  • Systematic Backups: Automated backups stored securely in multiple, geographically diverse locations.
  • Standardized Formats: Primary archival format is PDF/A (ISO 19005) for long-term integrity, alongside XML for metadata interoperability.

Self-Archiving Policy

Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit the Version of Record (VoR) in institutional or subject-based repositories immediately upon publication. We request that authors include a clear citation, the DOI, and a link back to the original article on the Clioquest website.

Content Withdrawal & Ethics

In adherence to COPE guidelines, if an article must be retracted, a formal notice will be issued. The original content remains in our digital archives, accompanied by a clear retraction note to ensure transparency and accountability.
